Our Mission

To integrate industrial-organizational psychology, cultural design, experiential learning, and evidence-based consulting to enhance workforce resilience, ethical leadership, organizational capacity, and community well-being throughout Hawaiʻi. Together, our mission and vision provide the foundation for every initiative, partnership, and educational effort undertaken by KITA WARE.

Why KITA WARE Was Created

KITA WARE was founded in response to the growing need for ethical leadership, resilient organizations, and collaborative community systems that strengthen both workplaces and communities. By integrating industrial-organizational psychology, education, organizational development, cultural design, and evidence-based practice, KITA WARE seeks to develop practical solutions that improve organizational effectiveness while supporting long-term community well-being throughout Hawaiʻi.

An Interdisciplinary Organization

KITA WARE brings together industrial-organizational psychology, organizational development, education, cultural design, experiential learning, evidence-based practice, and community engagement. This interdisciplinary approach enables KITA WARE to design, strengthen, evaluate, and sustain ethical systems that support organizations, workplaces, and communities throughout Hawaiʻi.

Our Vision

We envision communities and organizations that are resilient, ethical, culturally grounded, and responsive to the evolving needs of the people they serve. Our commitment extends beyond organizational development by working alongside the communities we serve.

Community Commitment

KITA WARE is committed to ethical, inclusive, and culturally grounded practices that honor Hawaiʻi’s unique communities, environments, and cultural heritage. The organization seeks to foster collaborative partnerships that strengthen long-term community resilience and sustainable systems of support.

Cultural Identity & Symbolism

The KITA Identity System serves as KITA WARE's organizational framework, visually representing the guiding principles that underpin our consulting, leadership, governance, education, organizational resilience, and community partnerships.

KITA WARE's visual identity is expressed through the KITA Identity System—a symbolic organizational identity framework that integrates traditional Japanese cultural symbolism with industrial-organizational psychology, ethical leadership, organizational resilience, and community transformation. Each Mon (Japanese family crest, or Kamon) represents a core area of practice that guides our mission, leadership, governance, education, consulting, and community engagement. Together, these symbols form the KITA Identity System, representing the interconnected principles that guide KITA WARE's consulting, leadership development, organizational resilience, governance, education, and community transformation.

The Kita Mon symbolizes resilience, continuity, and purposeful transformation. Inspired by traditional Japanese heraldic design, it reflects the values of growth through adversity, cultural grounding, ethical leadership, and enduring community connection.

Swallowtail Butterfly (Agehanochō)

In Japanese culture, the Swallowtail Butterfly represents transformation, renewal, beauty, and the transient nature of life. Historically associated with noble Japanese family crests, it symbolizes graceful strength, rebirth, and the ability to navigate change with dignity and balance.

The Mountain Mon symbolizes stability, wisdom, and strategic vision. Inspired by the enduring strength of mountains, it reflects KITA WARE's commitment to ethical governance, organizational stewardship, long-term planning, and sustainable leadership that strengthens organizations and communities.

The Feather Mon symbolizes resilience, unity, dignity, and purposeful growth. Rooted in traditional Japanese heraldic design, it reflects KITA WARE’s commitment to ethical leadership, community resilience, and culturally grounded systems that support healthier and more sustainable futures throughout Hawaiʻi.

The Bamboo Mon symbolizes resilience, adaptability, and sustainable growth. Inspired by the enduring strength of bamboo, it reflects KITA WARE's commitment to organizational resilience through ethical leadership, change management, capacity building, and the development of healthy, adaptable systems that strengthen organizations and communities.
